Since 2021, the city of Le Mans has chosen to equip itself with the ROTADAIRON® ROOG 150.60 disc overseeder in order to optimise the maintenance of its sports turf.
This purchase is part of a zero-pesticide approach and the need to carry out more frequent, high-quality overseeding to combat weeds.
We spoke with Gregory Hunault and Christophe Cotteau, who are responsible for the sports fields in the southern part of Le Mans. They explained:
“This investment now allows us to overseed all of our sports fields. For my area, that means 12 fields.
Each field is overseeded in two cross passes, and the results are very satisfactory.
Ideally, the operation is carried out four times a year, in addition to manual repair reseeding. This method helps to limit the growth of weeds.
We use an average of 120 kg of ryegrass seed per hectare for each reseeding operation.”
